Perform the following to troubleshoot:
- Ensure that the earphones have sufficient battery power: Ensure that the indicator light is yellow or green after opening the charging case.
- Disable and re-enable Bluetooth on your phone/tablet (click here if Bluetooth fails to be enabled).
- Check whether your earphones (for example, FreeBuds 5) are already listed in PAIRED DEVICES or My Device. If so, unpair or forget the earphones; if not, go to the next step.
- Place both earphones in the charging case and keep the lid open. Press and hold the Function button for at least 2 seconds (for FreeLace Pro 2, flip the Power switch to expose the green dot, and press and hold the Function button for at least 2 seconds; for FreeBuds SE 2, hold down on the touch control area on the left and right earphone at the same time for 3 seconds or longer; for FreeLace Pro and FreeLace, press and hold the Power button for 4 to 6 seconds; for FreeLace Lite and xSport Pro, press and hold the Function button for 4 to 6 seconds) until the indicator flashes white, indicating that the earphones have entered Pairing mode.
- Re-enable Bluetooth in Settings, find the earphones in the list of Available devices or Other devices, and pair the earphones with your device.
- If the issue persists or Bluetooth can't be enabled, restart your phone/tablet, enable Bluetooth again, and press the button (for FreeBuds series and FreeClip earphones, place both earphones in the charging case, keep the lid open, and press and hold the Function button for 10 seconds; for FreeLace Pro 2, flip the Power switch to expose the green dot and press and hold the Function button for 10 seconds; for FreeLace Pro and FreeLace, press and hold the Power button for 10 seconds or longer; for FreeLace Lite and xSport Pro, press and hold the Function button for 10 seconds or longer) until the indicator flashes red to restore the earphones to their factory settings. Then repeat step 5.
After the connection is complete, make sure that your earphones' firmware is always up to date. (Click here to learn how to update the firmware or software.)
