Update the firmware or software of the earphones by referring to Firmware and software update guide for the HUAWEI FreeBuds and FreeLace series earphones. If the update fails, perform the following steps:
- If the battery level of the earphones is low, the update will fail. Ensure that the battery level of earphones is at least 30% before performing the update.
- Place your earphones and phone/tablet together (within 50 cm of each other) and keep them away from sources of strong electromagnetic interference, such as microwave ovens and Wi-Fi routers.
- Reset the earphones or restore them to their factory settings, pair them with your device again, and update the earphones. For details, see Reset the HUAWEI FreeBuds and FreeLace series earphones or restore them to their factory settings.
To update the FreeLace running version 1.0.0.137 or earlier, attach the earphones first.
- If the issue persists, go to , touch the three-dot icon in the upper right corner of the screen, and select . Search for and touch "Device connection service" and go to . Then restart the phone, download the package, and try again.
If the issue persists, take your device and proof of purchase to an authorised Huawei Customer Service Centre for assistance.
