My HUAWEI FreeBuds/FreeLace series /WATCH Buds earphones do not play audio or the volume cannot be adjusted when connected to a computer

If you cannot hear anything during WeChat or Skype virtual calls, games, or music playback, or you cannot adjust the volume using the volume bar when the earphones are connected to a computer, perform the following steps:

  1. Click the volume adjustment icon in the lower right corner of the computer screen, click the Up arrow (the media volume and call volume are controlled separately and the menu is hidden), and select the playback device to adjust the volume.
    • When making calls on apps like WeChat and Skype, select Headset (FreeBuds XX Hands-Free) and slide the volume bar to adjust the call volume.
    • When playing a video or music, select Headphones (2- FreeBuds XX Stereo) and slide the volume bar to adjust the media volume.

    • The volume bar still displays the volume level after you choose to mute your device in Windows 10. You can click the mute icon or drag the volume bar to unmute the device.
    • After connecting the earphones to a computer, the earphones volume will change with the computer volume. When the volume is lower than 6 (max: 100), the sound may be extremely low or no sound can be heard. It is recommended that you slightly increase the volume to an appropriate level.
    • To prevent any sound loss during a call, the computer system does not allow the call volume to be adjusted to 0.
  2. Update your earphones to the latest version and your computer to Windows 10 21370 or later.
  3. If the issue persists, restore the earphones to their factory settings, restart the computer, and pair them again.

When your FreeLace series earphones are connected to a computer for charging, you cannot use the earphones. To use your earphones, you can remove the earphones, turn off Bluetooth on the computer, or manually disconnect the earphones from your computer in Sound Settings.
