What should I do if I can't install an app in HUAWEI AppGallery?

If you cannot download an app, refer to What should I do if I can't download an app in HUAWEI AppGallery?

If the system keeps displaying a message indicating that the app is being installed, delete the downloaded app package or terminate the download task and try to install the app again.

  1. To delete the app package, open HUAWEI AppGallery, go to Me > Installation packages, and delete the package in question.

    To terminate the download task, open HUAWEI AppGallery, go to Me > Installation manager, and touch the download progress bar on the right of the app in question.

  2. Clear the cache of HUAWEI AppGallery and try to install the app from HUAWEI AppGallery again. (Refer to Step 4 in What should I do if I can't download an app in HUAWEI AppGallery? )
  3. Check whether PrivateSpace has been enabled (by going to Settings > Privacy > PrivateSpace) or whether a sub user has been created (by going to Settings > Users & accounts). If so, disable it and try to install the app in question again.
  4. Restart your device, connect it to another network, and try to download and install the app again.

If an error code is displayed on the installation screen, perform the following to troubleshoot:

1. The installation package is invalid or incomplete.

2. The package is not compatible with the operating system.

3. HarmonyOS apps have come into conflict with Android apps.

If your device is running HarmonyOS, check whether you have installed a HarmonyOS version of the app, go to Settings > Privacy > PrivateSpace or Settings > Users & accounts > Users, select a sub user, and see if the app has been installed. If so, uninstall it. If not, try to see whether the app can be installed normally. After checking, disable PrivateSpace or delete your subaccounts.

Then return to MainSpace/the owner account and see if the app can be installed normally.

-103 No certificate found

The app may not be compatible with the device system.

When you search for the app, check whether there is a tag indicating whether the app is compatible with your device. Download the app after confirming that it is compatible.

-24 Inconsistent UID

The device may have software residual files that cannot be cleared.

1. Use Optimiser to clear residual and cache files.

2. Update the phone system and try to install the app again.

3. Back up your data, perform a factory reset, and install the app again.

-22 Verification failure

Your network may be faulty or the verification method may be incorrect.

1. Connect the device to another network, confirm that the connection is normal, and install the app again. If the network is normal, visit the official website of the app to check for the correct verification method.

2. If your phone is running EMUI 4.0 or 4.1, go to Settings > Apps > Menu, touch Show system processes, find Google Play Service Updater in the list, select Menu at the bottom, and touch Uninstall updates. After the uninstallation is completed, touch Disable and install the app again.

-110 Internal error

resulting in the installation failure.

The phone system may have been reset or some system files may have been deleted by mistake, resulting in the installation failure.

1. Update your system.

2. Back up your data, perform a factory reset, and install the app again.

-113 The app is incompatible with the CPU of the device

The app is not compatible with the CPU of the device (phone system: 32-bit or 64-bit).

Keep an eye out for for new versions that are compatible.

-25 The version of the installed app on your phone is higher than the version being downloaded.

The version of the installed app on your phone is higher than that being downloaded from HUAWEI AppGallery, resulting in the installation failure.

  1. Open Settings, go to Users & accounts > Users, and check whether you have added any users or guests.

    • If you have added other users or guests, sign in as a user or guest and check whether the app in question is installed. Take WeChat as an example. If WeChat is installed, back up the data of WeChat, open Settings, go to Apps > Apps, find WeChat, and touch Uninstall.

    • If you have not added other users or guests, update your system to the latest version. Go to Settings > System & updates > Software update and check whether a new version is available. Follow the onscreen instructions to update the system.

  2. Check whether the app in question is installed in PrivateSpace. To do so, go to Settings > Privacy > PrivateSpace on your phone. If the app is installed, uninstall it and install it from HUAWEI AppGallery again.

3. Restore your phone to its factory settings.

Restoring your phone to its factory settings will clear all files on your phone, including music, images, and installed apps. Exercise caution when performing this operation and back up your data beforehand.

Open Settings, search for and access the option to reset your phone, then follow the onscreen instructions to finish the operation.

-3 Invalid URL

1. Check if your device is running Android 6.0 or earlier versions (go to Settings > About phone to check the Android version instead of EMUI).

2. Check whether your system prompts you with the error code -3.

It is recommended that you go to https://appgallery.cloud.huawei.com/marketshare/app/C27162?locale=en_US and download HUAWEIAppGallery to replace the app that was installed originally.

Other cases

Perform the following to troubleshoot:

  • Delete the downloaded app installation package in AppGallery > Me > Installation packages. Alternatively, terminate the download process by going to AppGallery > Me > Installation manager and touching the download progress bar on the right of the app being downloaded.
  • Clear the cache of HUAWEI AppGallery (by going to Settings > Apps > Apps > AppGallery > Storage > Clear cache).
  • Connect to another network and try to download and install the app again.
